Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) unleashed expletives on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle at Monday’s House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing examining the recent assassination attempt on former President Trump.

“You are full of shit today. You are being completely dishonest,” Mace told Cheatle.

Mace had just asked Cheatle if she had provided all of the audio and video recordings in her possession to the House Oversight Committee as requested by the panel, and Cheatle told Mace that she would have to contact her to respond to this question.

His comment generated some resistance from across the aisle.

“We have to maintain decorum in this committee,” said Rep. Kweisi Mfume (D-Md.).

Although Mace had been the most aggressive of the members with his questioning up to that point, his behavior reflected widespread frustration among panel members over Cheatle’s lack of specific answers about the shooting.

“These are important questions that the American people want answers to, and you’re just ducking and talking in generalities,” Mace said.

The shooting at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, earlier this month left Trump injured, one rally attendee dead and two other attendees seriously injured.

Mace also accused Cheatle of “leaking” his opening statement to multiple media outlets before the hearing and asked him if this move was political. Cheatle responded that he had no idea how his statement was released.

“That’s bulls—,” said Mace.

It is standard practice for congressional hearing witness representatives to distribute prepared opening remarks to the media before hearings. But members of the oversight panel expressed frustration that they had not received his opening statement in advance.

And early in his questioning, Mace noted the widespread calls for Cheatle to resign.

“Would you like to use my five minutes to write your resignation letter, yes or no?” Mace asked.

“No thanks,” Cheatle replied.
