Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D), who represents the key swing state of Nevada, on Monday urged her colleagues and fellow Democrats to unite behind President Biden despite growing calls within the party for him to abandon his candidacy. to re-election.

Cortez Masto’s statement is one of the Senate’s strongest expressions of support for Biden.

She joined Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.) and Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who have also declared their support for Biden to remain in the race.

The Democratic leader highlighted their shared accomplishments and declared “we have delivered so much for America and for Central New York.”

Fetterman called out the Democratic Party “vultures” who have turned against Biden.

“I refuse to join the Democratic vultures on Biden’s shoulder after the debate. No one knows better than me that a difficult debate is not the sum total of the person and their record,” Fetterman posted in X following Biden’s disastrous debate against former President Trump.
