Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) rejected former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) suggestion that President Biden reconsider his decision to stay in the race, questioning Pelosi’s knowledge of how to run for office superior, noting that she spent her entire Washington career in the House.

“I would say, as far as I know, she has never run for any office outside of the House and she has never run for president, and she certainly never won that either,” Fetterman told CNN’s Erin Burnett.

Fetterman expressed his frustration that Pelosi questioned the sitting president’s choice to continue his re-election bid.

“He has already made his decision. Joe Biden made that decision,” Fetterman said. “He’s going to stay in this race and he’s going to take this all the way to the convention and all the way to November and I’m going to support him on that. If I have any advice for Joe Biden, stick around if that’s what you believe, and I’ll support you 100 percent.”

The Pennsylvania senator made his comments after Pelosi suggested during an appearance on NBC’s “Morning Joe” that Biden should reconsider his decision to run for a second term.

“It is up to the president to decide whether to run. We all encourage him to make this decision because time is running out,” Pelosi said.

His comments drew wide attention two days after Biden informed Democratic lawmakers that he plans to continue running until Election Day.

“I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end, and to defeating Donald Trump,” Biden wrote in a letter dated July 8. .

“Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and harms us. It is time for us to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump,” he wrote.
