Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) said Wednesday that Vice President Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, will be “worse” than President Biden if elected, saying she is “property of the left.” while criticizing his political positions.

“At the end of the day, she’s a radical left-winger from California and people need to know about her record,” Rubio said on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends.”

“She will be the most radically left-wing president this country would ever have if she were elected,” he continued, “She will be worse than Biden, she will be worse than Biden because she really fully believes in these things and will make them priorities.”

Rubio, who was named as former President Trump’s running mate this election cycle, argued that Biden was “rented” by liberals and had no political base of his own.

“From him [Biden’s] His career wasn’t really that of a radical leftist, but he was useful to them because he took office. Frankly, he didn’t know what was going on and that gave the leftists and the shadow government a lot of freedom to do whatever they wanted,” Rubio said. “Kamala Harris is not rented, she is owned by the left. She is a product of the left wing of the Democratic Party.”

The Florida Republican highlighted Harris’ stance on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the police, arguing that she will work to defund ICE and the police if elected to office.

Rubio’s remarks echo those of Trump and his allies, who have targeted Harris over the situation at the US southern border. House Republicans are preparing to vote on a resolution to condemn the Biden administration and Harris, who is described as a “border czar” in the resolution.

“I know she changed her position when she became a vice presidential candidate. But these are the things she fought for, defended and voted for when she was a senator and these are what she will do when she is president,” Rubio said. later adding: “She will pressure them and this country will be destroyed.”

White House spokesman Andrew Bates dismissed the “border czar” attack on Tuesday, saying: “As we speak, congressional Republicans continue their months-long blockade of critical resources for ICE and the Border Patrol. Border in Tough Bipartisan Border Security Deal Backed by the Biden-Harris Administration.”

Harris walked a fine line in 2020 when asked about her stance on police funding before being chosen for Biden’s ticket. At the time, she responded by trying to clarify what cutting police funding meant and argued that it was not as radical as opponents portrayed it.

The Hill has reached out to Harris’ campaign for further comment.

Rubio’s comments come just days after Biden announced he would step aside from the 2024 race and endorsed Harris to run as his successor.

Dozens of Democrats quickly supported Harris, who crossed the threshold to secure the Democratic presidential nomination, receiving more than 1,968 delegate endorsements on the first full day of her campaign.
