Former President Trump on Tuesday lashed out at media outlets for their coverage of his long chat with billionaire Elon Musk on the mogul-owned social platform X.

“I spent two and a half hours last night talking to Elon, a fantastic guy, getting the all-time views/hits record, and all Fake News wants to report is that the servers crashed (because of the tremendous volume! ), and the show premiered a little late,” Trump wrote in his Truth Social website after receiving media coverage of the conversation.

“What they should report was the incredible number of people who were listening. I absolutely HATE the fake news media,” Trump said. “So bad for our country!”

The conversation between Musk and Trump was delayed for more than half an hour on Monday after apparent technical problems. Musk posted on the platform during the delay saying that X was experiencing a “massive DDOS,” or denial of service attack, targeting the platform.

At its peak, the X Spaces chat between Trump and Musk reached more than 1 million listeners.

During the relaxed conversation, Musk asked the former president about his recent assassination attempt and opinions on issues ranging from immigration to crime and the economy.

Musk, who frequently promotes conservative causes and influencers on X, has pledged his support for Trump and promised to spend millions to help the former president win the election this fall.
