The body of a missing construction worker who was on Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge when it collapsed last week has been found, authorities said.

Unified Command, a group that includes the U.S. Coast Guard and Maryland state agencies, said in a press release release that the body of Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, 38, was recovered by their dive teams on Friday morning at around 10:30 a.m.

“Unified Command rescue dive teams located what they believed to be the missing construction worker and notified the Maryland State Police Department,” the statement said. “Maryland State Police Underwater Recovery Team deployed in coordination with dive teams from allied law enforcement partners and recovered Suazo-Sandoval.”

The statement also said that Maryland State Police investigators, an FBI victim specialist, the Baltimore County Critical Response Team and the Governor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs “met and notified Suazo-Sandoval’s family ”.

“The Key Bridge collapse is, without a doubt, one of the most challenging tragedies we have faced as a law enforcement agency. Along with our local, state and federal public safety partners, we will not give up,” Col. Roland L. Butler Jr., superintendent of the Maryland State Police Department, said in the statement.

“There are families still waiting to find out if we found their loved one. I can promise you that we are fully committed to finding closure for each of these families,” Butler continued.

President Biden visited Baltimore on Friday and said he would “move heaven and earth” to rebuild the bridge.

“I’m here to tell you that your nation has your back. And I mean it. Your nation stands with you,” Biden said with the ruins of the bridge behind him.

“The damage is devastating and our hearts are still broken,” said the president, also referring to the six deaths resulting from the bridge collapse.
