The bruin appeared at lunchtime in a residential area of Camp Hill, on the outskirts of the capital Harrisburg. Students and staff at a nearby high school were told to stay home and a section of the road was closed Pennlive.com reported.
Firefighters and firefighters used a ladder to approach and tranquilize the bear. The sedated animal fell about 20 feet onto a large blue tarp held by several wildlife officials, police officers and firefighters. The animal was tranquilized again and then transferred to a bear trap placed in a trailer, the news outlet reported.
The bear did not appear to be fully grown and game officials said they would likely move it to state lands elsewhere in central Pennsylvania, according to the report. The Associated Press left a message with the Game Commission requesting details.
