Who is David Hunt?

Born in Canning Town, London, David Hunt is a man who changed his life.

Hunt was born in 1961 in a cramped council house on an east London estate, but now lives in an opulent mansion between Essex and Hertfordshire.

The youngest of 13 children, he said his Christian parents raised him to adopt a strong work ethic.

After leaving school at 16, he became an amateur boxer and quickly gained a reputation as a fierce fighter.

He was reportedly the leader of the “Hunt Syndicate”, an organized crime group that built a vast criminal empire.

Who is the Hunt Syndicate?

Operation Tiberius was a police investigation into criminal groups in North and East London that led them to stumble upon The Hunt Syndicate.

The operation alleges that the group, led by David Hunt, managed to evade prosecution for some time through a network that used corrupt police contacts and witness intimidation.

Mr. Hunt denies all these allegations and maintains that he has never corrupted a police officer.

In 2006, a scrapyard in London’s Docklands area was searched for stolen goods, along with a nearby facility.

Police found 42 containers believed to contain proceeds from 18 truck robberies and one commercial robbery.

Despite overwhelming evidence, the case failed.

Why is David Hunt known as the ‘Long Fella’?

Hunt is believed to be known in gang circles as “Long Fella” due to his height of 6ft.

He became a close friend and associate of Reggie Kray, visiting him in prison in 2000, shortly before his death.

However, Hunt himself would say that the visits had nothing to do with his involvement in the criminal underworld and said he only visited Kray a few times.

It is alleged that Hunt, in the mid-80s, joined a gang called the Snipers.

The Snipers were believed to be involved in lorry hijackings in Essex and east London.

A 1985 police report noted how he was “rising through the ranks” and overseeing the gang’s activities.

As a result of leaked police investigation documents, Hunt launched a libel case against the Sunday Times.

However, the five-week trial concluded that his claims that he was just a wrongly accused businessman were unfounded.

The newspaper said the article was responsible, accurate journalism and in the public interest.

At the end of the libel case, the judge concluded that the article’s claims about Hunt being a crime boss were correct.
