A SUBMARINE captain has been fired for making a sex video while commanding nuclear missiles.
The officer was expelled from the Royal Navy after senior officials viewed the pornographic footage.
He was in command of a Vanguard-class nuclear submarine armed with Trident Two doomsday weapons.
The captain shared the graphic film with a junior sailor who served aboard the same submarine.
Crew claimed the pair had an illicit physical relationship when the £4 billion submarine was at sea.
However, a Royal Navy source said sex on board was not part of the investigation.
Navy chiefs accused the submarine captain of sharing pornographic selfies as well.
The officer – who knew Princess Anne and was appointed OBE for top secret work – went to office work when the footage and photographs were revealed.
He was immediately suspended before being fired shortly after under a “zero tolerance policy” for sexually unacceptable behavior.
The scandal is another major blow to the Navy amid a chronic shortage of submarine personnel.
The officer had passed the grueling Perisher course to gain command of a nuclear-powered submarine.
He was one of the youngest officers to command a hunter-killer ship before taking command of a Vanguard class, known as a “bomber boat.”
The Royal Navy has four nuclear-armed submarines, with one ship always at sea ready to launch at Britain’s enemies in response to a nuclear attack.
The Vanguard sex footage follows allegations that a different submarine captain placed his manhood in the pocket of a female warrant officer on board.
And in 2017, a sub-captain and his deputy were accused of having affairs with two female junior officers aboard HMS Vigilant.
The Royal Navy told The Sun last night: “All forms of unacceptable behavior are taken extremely seriously and anything that falls short of the highest standards will not be tolerated.
“Anyone found guilty will be held accountable for their actions, regardless of their position or status.”
