Baby-killing nurse Lucy Letby has launched a new attempt to appeal against her convictions.

A panel of three judges is considering the case.

Details of his application, which began yesterday at the Court of Appeal in London, cannot be released for legal reasons.

But it can be revealed that Letby, 34, wants to challenge his convictions on four grounds involving arguments that the judge at his trial unfairly refused legal requests.

Letby, from Hereford, was sentenced to 14 life sentences last August after being found guilty of murdering seven babies and trying to kill six others in the neonatal unit at The Countess of Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2016.

If the judges reject your proposal, the second attempt to contest your guilt will be the end of the appeals process.

She faces a new trial in June in connection with an attempted murder case.

Earlier this year, The Sun reported how evil Letby was given the key to his own cell in a private prison.

The killer nurse is serving a life sentence without parole for murdering newborn babies and trying to kill six more.

The father of one of the babies murdered by Letby told the Sunday People: “We thought they were throwing away the key.

“Now we discover that she has her own key.”

A spokesperson for HMP Bronzefield confirmed that some inmates at the prison are given their own keys.
