The new Co-op Live in Manchester has been hit by further problems before it has even fully opened – with tonight’s show being canceled because concertgoers were queuing outside.

A post shared on social media at 6.40pm said: “Due to a technical issue relating to the venue, tonight’s A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie show will no longer take place.

“Ticket holders will receive further information in due course.”

“We deeply apologize for the significant inconvenience this will cause many,” he added.

Spectators were supposed to be allowed into the arena at 6:30 p.m. and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, whose real name is Julius Dubose, was supposed to perform at 8 p.m., according to the venue’s website.

In a post on Instagram, the American rapper said the cancellation was due to “something [that] happened to the venue while I was at soundcheck.”

“We are working on rescheduling for the next few days,” he added. “I am also angry about the situation, but safety comes first.

“Manchester, I got you. Stay tuned for more information.”

Co-op Live bosses sought to reassure fans that tonight’s show would go ahead and shared instructions for attendees just hours before the cancellation.

Many fans shared their disappointment on social media, with some questioning whether Olivia Rodrigo’s upcoming shows at the venue will go ahead as planned.

The Good 4 U singer is set to bring her GUTS world tour to Co-op Live this Friday and Saturday.

With a capacity of 23,500 people, Co-op Live will be the largest arena in the UK when fully open and was built at an estimated cost of £365 million.

The headaches at the venue became clear last month when capacity for a test event was reduced with just hours notice.
