Photos purportedly from the scene show a red double-decker bus parked in the middle of the road, with the area cordoned off.

The road remained closed at around 2pm.

It comes just weeks after another Catherine Finnegan, 56, was killed in the same area after also being struck by a double-decker vehicle.

Youcef Fk, 26, who works for a tourist bus company in Victoria, said The telegraph today: “The police said a lady was hit by the bus.

“This is the third time this has happened in the same place, and the fourth time was a few weeks ago when a bus stop was destroyed.”

Westminster Police said today: “Police were called to Buckingham Palace Road at 11.16am following reports of a road traffic collision involving a bus and a pedestrian.

“A woman was treated at the scene and her injuries were confirmed to be life-threatening.

“Road closures are currently in effect.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.14am today to reports of a road collision involving a bus and a pedestrian at Victoria Station, SW1W.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews and an incident response officer. We also sent a trauma team from the London Air Ambulance by car.

“Our first paramedic arrived on scene in less than five minutes.

“We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma center.”

In January, “beloved daughter” Catherine was killed when she was hit by a bus at Victoria bus station.

Broken glass was strewn across the pavement after a number 13 double-decker bus reportedly crashed into the back of a bus stop.

A large section of Victoria Station was cordoned off by police tape while black tarpaulins covered the crash site.

The victim, who died at the scene, has now been identified as Catherine Finnegan, 56, from County Galway.

Past tragedies

In a statement, Catherine’s family said: “Our beloved daughter, sister, partner, adored aunt and dear friend Catherine Finnegan, known as Kathleen, lost her life on January 29, 2024.

“She will be remembered as a unique lady who had a quick Irish wit.

“Catherine made her family and friends very proud with her bright and intelligent personality.

“She was a whirlwind in any room and lit up this world with her energy, zest for life and joy.

“She will forever be in our hearts.”

Two years earlier, Melissa Burr suffered multiple injuries when she was dragged under her vehicle in London Victoria.

The 32-year-old man died in the accident involving two buses and three pedestrians in August 2021.

A spokesperson for Melissa’s family said at the time: “We are absolutely devastated by the loss and the hole this incident has left in our lives.

“As a family, we naturally want to understand how such a tragedy occurred, but for now we just want time and space to mourn our beautiful Melissa and send her to rest with her late father.”
