The body of a missing British tourist – who went missing after allegedly jumping from a party boat in Prague – has been found following a search of a river.

Joop Sparkes, 29, traveled to the Czech Republic with friends on Friday, April 26, and enjoyed the capital’s bars and nightclubs over the weekend.

The following evening, the group departed on a party boat from the President Hotel Prague.

In the early hours of April 28, while his friends were at the bar, Mr Sparkes was seen jumping into the river Vltava “for a swim”.

Mr Sparkes, from Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, has not reappeared or contacted his family and friends.

Several of his loved ones, including his sister Jodie Wilson and his girlfriend Charley Maben, traveled to Prague in an effort to join the search.

A local police spokesman previously said crews had been searching for Mr Sparkes since the alarm was raised.

In an update on Monday, Wilson confirmed that a body recovered from the water on Sunday night was that of his brother.
