Temperatures in the UK could reach around 23C this week as forecasters predict a better week ahead.
Sunny spells will occur throughout the day in many parts of the UK on Tuesday.
Once the holiday weekend rain eases, it is likely to remain dry in most areas away from Scotland and northern England.

Conditions will improve across the country as the week progresses and it will start to get increasingly warmer – although some areas of northern Scotland may still see some rain.
“In general, everything will be much more settled this week,” said Met Office meteorologist Ellie Glaisyer.
“It will start to feel a lot more pleasant, with temperatures on Tuesday likely to reach the low twenties in the south, and by the end of the week we could see temperatures in the 22C to 23C range, while the north will likely reach temperatures in the teens. .”
Glaisyer said an area of high pressure will begin to form and move across the UK from Wednesday, potentially bringing more stable, warmer and drier weather.

It comes after the UK experienced a mix of rain and sunny spells over the bank holiday weekend.
The Met Office issued yellow weather warnings for parts of England, Wales and southern Scotland on Monday as it warned that thunderstorms and heavy rain could cause flooding and disruption to travel.
Both warnings expired at 9pm on Monday night as the rain began to ease across the UK.
