A TEACHER sent a boy she had a baby with a photo of X-rated underwear while she was on bail for sleeping with another student, a court heard.
Rebecca Joynes, 30, is accused of having sexual relations with two students while working as a math teacher.
She had a son with one of the students, Boy B, after starting a relationship when he was 15, jurors heard.
This then developed into a sexual relationship when he turned 16, with the two allegedly sleeping together around 30 times.
During his testimony, Boy B told the court that Joynes sent him a photo of her bottom wearing underwear.
He said: “When I was 16, I thought I was there.”
The boy told jurors he asked Joynes if they could meet and ended up going to her flat in Salford.
He claimed it was “really awkward at first” as she was twice his age, but then they kissed.
The boy said Joynes said he wasn’t sure if they should kiss before he left school, but told the court they went ahead and had sex on her bed.
He claims they later had sex at least 30 times in “several different places.”
Boy B told jurors he was aware that Joynes had been arrested and released on bail on charges relating to the first student, named Boy A.
He said that at first he didn’t believe she would meet him, but they started seeing each other anyway.
The teenager added: “I thought she liked me because she was sending me pictures of her butt.
“I was asking if I would progress, but she didn’t feel comfortable because I was still at school.
“But it kind of happened anyway.”
Joynes then became pregnant and gave birth to her son, despite being told she was infertile, jurors were told.
She reportedly broke the news by presenting him with a babygrow that included the words: “I love my dad.”
He is said to have cried and told Joynes he did not want a child.
The court heard yesterday how Joynes first “groomed” Boy A, who was then 15, by taking him shopping at Selfridges.
Joynes then allegedly bought him a £345 Gucci belt before driving him home in her white Audi, where they had sex twice.
He claimed that Joynes laughed and told him to “shut up” when he mentioned his age to her.
The pair then allegedly went back to her flat and had unprotected sex, with Boy A telling the teacher: “I hope to God you don’t get pregnant.”
Messages allegedly shared between Joynes and the teenager were also read in court.
In one conversation, they joked about another student joining them before Boy A told the teacher he must be “the only one.”
Joynes replied: “Obviously it’s just you.”
A police investigation was launched in October 2021 and she was subsequently arrested and released on bail with the condition that she not come into contact with any children under the age of 18.
Joynes denies two counts of sexual activity with Boy A, two counts of sexual activity with Boy B and two counts of sexual activity with Boy B whilst a person in a position of trust.
The trial continues.
