A HOME worker who found used tissue and a pack of gum in a new jacket she bought online has tested positive for coronavirus.
The woman grabbed the scarf as she reached into the pocket of her £15 Pretty Little Thing coat.
She said she started feeling unwell 36 hours later and later tested positive.
The woman, from London, told The Sun: “I’ve been working from home for months and decided to buy the jacket for myself, along with a few other things.
”When it arrived, I put it on and wore it for about an hour before reaching into my pocket and pulling out a used tissue and a pack of gum.
“I screamed and felt physically sick and took off my jacket immediately.
“I contacted Pretty Little Thing and told them what had happened, but they didn’t seem interested at all.
”Later the next day I started feeling unwell and lost my taste and smell, cough and fever.
“I didn’t feel well at all and I took a Covid test and it was positive.
”I’ve been working from home and haven’t gone out, so I can only get this from my jacket and scarf, so I told Pretty Little Thing, but they just tricked me.”
Pretty Little Thing said it is investigating.
PLT later said the jacket was shipped from a warehouse by Clipper Logistics and added another statement from them.
It said: “At Clipper Logistics, people are at the heart of what we deliver to our customers, and we have rigorous training and quality assurance processes and procedures designed to ensure the highest standards of service and customer experience across our business. .
“We apologize that the item did not meet our high standards and are currently carrying out a robust investigation into the complaint made.”
