The bodies of two women were found at a property in Nottingham, and police believe they may have been there “for some time”.
Police said they were called after concerns were raised about the welfare of people at a property in Hartley Road, Radford, at 11.04am on Tuesday.
Police officers accessed the address and found the two bodies inside.
No arrests have been made and it is unclear how the women died.
There is “no immediate risk to the public”, according to Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow of Nottinghamshire Police.
“We are keeping an open mind about what happened at this address and will be working hard over the coming days to establish how and when these two women lost their lives,” she added.
“In the meantime, my thoughts – and those of all the other officers involved in this investigation – are with those who died, their families and friends.”
