Man dies after gliders collide at airfield in Northamptonshire | UK News

A 45-year-old man has died after two gliders collided while landing at an airfield.

Northamptonshire Police said emergency crews attended Hinton-in-the-Hedges airfield, near Brackley, just before 4pm on Saturday.

Police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) have launched an investigation into the incident.

Investigators are appealing for information, including mobile phone footage.

The collision occurred after a pilot died in a separate incident when a Spitfire crashed in a field near an RAF base in Lincolnshire.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in Coningsby after reports the plane crashed just before 1.20pm on Saturday.
