A new rollercoaster believed to be the UK’s tallest has closed the day after it opened.
Hyperia in Thorpe Park is said to be the tallest in the country, at 236 feet, and the fastest, with a top speed of 80 mph.
It opened to the public on Friday, but on Saturday the theme park released an update on its X page.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to open Hyperia between Sunday 26th and Wednesday 29th May,” the statement read.
“We apologize for the disappointment this will cause and are working hard to reopen Hyperia as quickly as possible,” he added.

Those who pre-book tickets during the temporary closure period will be able to reschedule for another day for free, according to the theme park.
Crowds flocked to try out the new attraction on opening day, with waits on Friday exceeding five hours, according to reports.
