A man has been arrested on suspicion of a sexual offense after a flight to Ibiza had to be diverted.
The Jet2 Edinburgh to Ibiza flight was diverted to Bristol Airport on Tuesday morning after crew raised concerns about a passenger, who later received medical treatment upon landing.
Avon and Somerset Police said information received at the scene led to the arrest of a male passenger “on suspicion of a sexual offence”.
The force said: “A Jet2 flight from Edinburgh for Ibiza was safely diverted to Bristol Airport on Tuesday.
“The crew raised concerns regarding a passenger, who received medical care upon landing.
“Officers present subsequently received information, which led to the arrest of a male passenger on suspicion of a sexual offence, who was taken into custody.
“We can confirm this is related to an alleged incident on board the aircraft.”

The suspect was released on conditional bail while investigations continue.

Jet2 Confirmed flight LS789 was diverted so that “police could disembark a passenger following an incident on board”.
A spokesperson added: “As this is a police matter we are unable to comment further at this time.”
