Prince William said Kate would have “loved” to have taken part in the 80th anniversary of D-Day events.
He made the comments to a senior in Portsmouth, who asked him how she was doing.
William he replied “she would love to be here today” and in a clip of the exchange, published on X, he also appeared to say that he was getting better.

Kate revealed in March that he was undergoing treatment for an unspecified form of cancer and called the diagnosis a “huge shock.”
King is also undergoing cancer treatment and has recently returned to some public functions – including this week’s events to mark 80 years since Day D.
The family is keeping details of his and Kate’s treatment private, and the Princess of Wales is not attending events at this time.

We must not forget their service and sacrifice, says King
It is not known when she will be able to return to public duties. However, on a trip to the Isles of Scilly last month, William said she was “doing well”.

The King also addressed the crowd and paid tribute to the “courage, resilience and solidarity” of those involved in the historic invasion of Normandy – a crucial moment in the defeat of the Nazis.
At a certain point, the Queen was photographed in tears as Royal Navy veteran Eric Bateman recalled the horrors of the day.
Princess Anne was in Normandy for the celebrations, unveiling a statue of a Canadian marine storming the beaches.
