It’s the strangest scene in the small beach resort of Agia.
Vacationers spread out on sun loungers, people swim in the turquoise Mediterranean sea and the only noise is that of the waves hitting the rocks.
A chain-link fence surrounds the resort, only accessible through a small seaside gate at the north end.
Outside the perimeter, two men stand in front of a body, which Greek authorities say is that of Dr Michael Mosley.
A major search operation was launched to find the doctor

The body found in the search for the renowned doctor has not yet been formally identified
He had been missing for four days and police said they believed he had walked north from Pedi marina towards Agia beach.
For four days, ground search teams and a helicopter meticulously searched the area. They were convinced that Dr. Mosley was walking toward the resort.

Dr. Mosley disappeared on Wednesday when he didn’t return from a walk
In the end it was a cameraman from a Greek television channel who found him.
Antonios Mystilovlou told us he was on a boat this morning and thought he saw something on the rocks.

Who was Michael Mosley?
He returned to the marina about 10 minutes away and looked more closely at his footage before realizing what he was seeing.

A coast guard boat took the body to Rhodes for an autopsy
“There was the body. He was lying with his hand on his stomach and he was carrying his bag in his other hand,” he told Sky News.
Mystilovlou said the body was about 50 meters from the sea.
“I think he was planning to go down and got tired, dizzy, I don’t know… he sat down and passed out, that’s my guess.
“This is a very, very sad ending for him and his family.”

Cameraman caught TV doctor’s body
Mystilovlou holds back tears as she recognizes the pain this news will undoubtedly bring to Dr. Mosley’s family.
It’s the feeling shared by a man responsible for the volunteer crisis rescue team. As he sits on a sun lounger just meters from the body, a Greek coast guard officer comforts him.
“A man died, but it took a long time to find him,” said the head of the rescue team.
