SHOCKING footage shows the heart-stopping moment a baby in a pram rolls into the path of a speeding train.
Fortunately, the three-month-old baby was unharmed after his stroller crashed into the edge of a speeding train at Banbury railway station on Saturday, June 8.
CCTV footage showed the harrowing moment the cart slowly rolled towards the track.
The impact caused the cart to fall onto the platform before tipping over.
The frightening video shows someone quickly grabbing the baby from the ground to safety.
Paramedics later attended the scene and the child was miraculously released.
The driver, David Ward, tried to stop the train but stormed into the station after thinking it had eight carriages instead of four, a rail industry source told MailOnline.
The baby’s mother and grandmother were reportedly distraught after the scare.
Sun has contacted Network Rail for comment.
The images show passengers standing while waiting to board the train.
A blue baby carriage slowly moves off the platform and towards the tracks as the train quickly approaches.
A woman, sensing impending disaster, rushes to grab him, but he hits the third carriage and is sent flying across the platform – thankfully not onto the tracks.
It serves as a stark reminder to be careful about getting too close to the tracks following 11 accidental deaths on British railways in 2022/23.
West Midlands Railway boss Jamie Ainsworth in February warned people about the danger of trains following footage of a man ignoring flashing red lights at a level crossing.
He took his dog under the barrier and crossed the tracks, despite the train passing moments later.
The railway boss said in response: “I hope this video reminds the public to concentrate, wait behind barriers and follow instructions at level crossings to remain safe at all times.
“Incidents like this can also have a major impact on train drivers and I would ask the public to bear this in mind when using level crossings.”
