A 16-year-old boy died after being injured by a falling tree, Nottinghamshire Police said

Officers were called to Rotherham Baulk, Carlton-in-Lindrick, at around 11.20am on Saturday following reports the young man had been seriously injured.

Police and paramedics attended the incident, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, aged 28 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

A 28-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of helping an attacker.

All three remain in police custody and police have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a tragic incident and my thoughts are with the boy’s family.

“The family is being supported by specially trained officers as we continue to investigate exactly what happened.

“Our investigations remain ongoing and we would ask anyone with information, including witnesses and anyone who may have captured CCTV, doorbell camera or dash cam footage, to contact us.”
