An eight-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car in Wiltshire.

The incident happened in Woodland View, Dilton Marsh at around 4.30pm on Saturday, Wiltshire Police said.

The boy died at the scene and his family was informed, the force added.

A 30-year-old man is being interviewed by detectives.

Any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597, quoting registration number 218.
