England captain Harry Kane said he feels “as fit as he has all season” and is “getting fitter with every game” as he speaks to the media in Germany amid criticism of the national team’s performance in the Euro 2024.
Kane’s comments come after Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate suggested his players are not in good form following poor performances against Serbia and Denmark.
The England captain speaks at a press conference at 2:15 pm, as the team prepares to face Slovenia in the final Group C match on Tuesday night.
Before answering questions, the attacker played darts with members of the press office.
England are in a strong position to progress to the knockout stages of Euro 2024, but disappointing performances in the first two games, it attracted criticism from pundits and fans.
Southgate said his team has “limitations” and is struggling to play a pressing game and disrupt the opposing team due to their physical condition.
Kane was sent off in the second half as England drew 1-1 with Denmark on Thursday – with the Bayern Munich forward also missing the end of the German domestic season with a back injury.
