Andy Murray has not yet decided whether he will play at Wimbledon after undergoing back surgery at the weekend.
Confusion has surrounded Murray’s possible appearance at SW19 next week after the ATP Tour, the governing body for men’s professional tennis tours, made a post on social media to say he was “sadly out of Wimbledon” following surgery.
But in a statement, Murray’s team said: “Following surgery on Saturday, Andy continues to work with his medical team to confirm when he will return to the court.
“At this stage, no decisions have been made and we will update as soon as something is finalized.”
The 37-year-old was widely expected to make a farewell appearance at this summer’s event. Wimbledon before possible retirement after the Olympics.
He went under the knife for the procedure after withdrawing from his match against Jordan Thompson after just five games in the second round at Queen’s in west London on Wednesday.
The Scot described feeling weakness in his right leg and loss of coordination and required on-court treatment – before a scan revealed he needed surgery.

Murray has battled back injuries in the past, having undergone surgery in 2013, but has also struggled with pain in recent weeks.

Queen’s – a tournament he has won five times – was just his fourth event back in action after nearly two months out with an ankle problem.
This latest problem could spell the end of Murray’s career illustrious careerwho was hampered by a series of serious injuries.
Although he was world number one, he suffered a hip injury that caused him to have a metal plate inserted.
He said last week ending his career at either Wimbledon or the Olympics would be appropriate as he has won both competitions twice.
