Britain’s most tattooed mum has revealed she is stuck indoors during hot weather as her tattoos “scare” children on the beach – who will “stare, point or run away” when they see her.

Melissa Sloan, from Kidderminster, is no stranger to strange comments from the public and often makes headlines for her extreme body art.

The mother of seven has over 800 tattoos so far.

But as Britain experiences hot weather with temperatures reaching 29 degrees, the 45-year-old is avoiding the crowds.

“I avoid the beach and I don’t go anywhere,” Melissa said.

She added: “Children stare, point or run away when they see me.

“I think my tattoos scare them and their parents also look at me strangely, so it’s usually a strange outing that I’d rather avoid.

“My ink confuses most people and I don’t care, that’s who I am.

“But even so, it can be tiring to be alert to any negative comments or looks.

“So for my well-being, I sometimes avoid things I enjoy, like going to the beach or a public pool when it’s sunny.”

Melissa also depends on her partner to shop and carry out other simple daily tasks.

And she can’t even go to the drink and cool off with a beer in the garden, as she’s not welcome.

All my brothers want me to get a 9/11 tattoo – they call me a killjoy for refusing, but I don’t need it on my arm

The mum said: “Since I’ve been banned from the local pub for life, the beer garden isn’t an option either.

“It’s a sacrifice that I accept and my family accepts me as I am – including my children.

“But I wish I didn’t have to hide my skin because others can’t accept that we don’t all need to look the same.”

Previously nicknamed ‘Crayola’, the mother has also struggled to find employment because of her tattoo.

But that’s not enough to stop her.

She admits to receiving up to three new inks per week.

Melissa also revealed that she lets her kids pick out their tattoos in a weekly “lucky dip” and then uses her own tattoo gun to add them to her ever-growing collection.

It comes after a furious mother criticized a school’s “Victorian style” uniform policy after her daughter was isolated for wearing earrings.

And fans were surprised to learn that an aspiring tattoo artist used her daughter to test her designs.
