Prince William will return to royal duties on Thursday, his first public engagements since the Princess of Wales’ cancer announcement.
The prince will visit Surrey and west London to highlight “the community and environmental impact that organizations in the region are having through their work”.
He will participate in a food redistribution charity as well as a youth center.
These will be Prince William’s first public engagements since the Princess of Wales revealed she is undergoing preventive chemotherapy after doctors discovered cancer during planned abdominal surgery.
Last week, William and his eldest son Prince George attended an Aston Villa football game togetherin his first public performance since the announcement.
William, Kate and their three children missed Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle following the announcement, despite having attended last year.
On a video released after weeks of speculation regarding Kate’s health, she said the diagnosis came as a “huge shock” to her and William and that she was currently in the early stages of treatment.
“It took me some time to recover from major surgery to start my treatment,” she said.
“But most importantly, we have taken time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I will be fine.”

Since their diagnosis, William and Kate have been “extremely emotional” and “extremely excited” for the warmth and support of the public.
