It wasn’t just voters who went to the polls for the general election – many loyal furry friends joined their humans on the walk to the polls.

As has become a (very welcome) norm in recent years, #dogsatpollingstations has been trending on social media, as people share photos of themselves exercising their pets and democratic rights at the same time.
