Man, 33, stabbed to death in ‘violent attack’ in east London during early murder investigation | UK News

A 33-year-old man was stabbed to death in a “violent attack” in east London.

O Metropolitan police launched a murder investigation following the incident, which occurred at around 3pm on Saturday, in Lea Bridge Road, Waltham Forest.

The man died at the scene, despite the best efforts of emergency services.

No one was arrested, but a knife was seized.

Acting Superintendent Jack Callaghan described the stabbing as a “violent attack” and said there would be more officers in the area in the coming days.

Officers are also appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Images shared on social media site X appeared to show a cordon and forensic teams around several local businesses, including restaurants and a barber shop.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley said: “My team is working around the clock to establish exactly what happened and what led to a man tragically losing his life.”

She added: “While we have spoken to a number of witnesses, we need to hear from anyone who saw the suspect running away.

“Where did he go? If you were driving in the area and had a dash cam, please review the footage in case you captured anything that could help us.

“Furthermore, we strongly believe that people in the area may have information that could assist the investigation and we implore you to contact us and tell us what you know.”

The victim has not been formally identified, but his family is being supported by specialist police officers.
