A man who died after his car left a highway and plunged into an embankment following a police chase has been identified.
Declan Connell, 27, was driving a white Vauxhall Corsa southbound on the M9 when the incident happened between junctions 8 and 9 in the Stirling area at around 11.50am on Sunday.
Emergency services attended but Mr Connell, from Falkirk, was declared dead at the scene.
His family asked for privacy.

Two male passengers, aged 19 and 20, were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital to be examined.
Police Scotland said that before the accident, the car was involved in a police chase.

The circumstances of the collision have been referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC).
The road was fully reopened at around 2:40 pm this Monday.

Chief Inspector Mark Patterson said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and extensive inquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“We are appealing for any witnesses, especially drivers with dashcam footage, to get in touch.”
