SQUATTERS have taken over Marco Pierre White’s former Leicester Square restaurant.

Around 400 activists reportedly moved into the abandoned London site last week and padlocked the doors.

The Metropolitan Police have already secured the five-story building.

The steakhouse and pizzeria was opened by the TV chef, 62, in 2021 but closed earlier this year.

The manager of the neighboring Filipino fast-food restaurant said The telegraph that up to 400 people lived in the building.

Ellen Leyco, Jollibee manager, said: “The board visits us regularly. When they were here last week, I told them they needed to investigate Mr. White because this is causing us some problems.

“The council came back today and told me I was right as they found 400 people there.

“They said they were occupying all the floors and that they were illegal. Many are homeless and are leaving a mess in the back.”

A spokesperson for Westminster City Council confirmed to The Sun that the premises “have now been secured by the Met Police”.

The Sun has also contacted the Met and Mr White’s agency for comment.

It comes after Gordon Ramsay filed legal papers to evict trespassers from his multi-million pound pub.

The group of unruly invaders have set up shop in television chef Gordon’s posh £13 million boozer.

Camden Art Cafe took over the celebrity chef’s former York & Albany pub in north London last week in what it claimed was a legal occupation of the building.

The gang, reportedly made up of at least six “professional attackers”, used Ramsay’s own kitchen utensils to protect themselves and glued the locks together.

But now they’ve been served with papers – forcing them to “cancel” the cafeteria they said they were fleeing from the Camden restaurant.

In a post on their Instagram profile, the masked activists claim that they were summoned and had to cancel the opening.

The statement reads: “Apologies to everyone who was due to come today. Documents delivered, coffee cancelled!”

Occupation of a non-residential property is not a criminal offense in England and Wales.
