The last government left “a mountain of mess” that looked like “a Downing Street party”, according to Sir Keir Starmer.
Writing in The Guardianthe Labor Prime Minister attacked the Conservative government that preceded him and the state that left the economy.
Mr Keir said: “Like a Downing Street party, they have left a mountain of mess for this government to clean up.
“Arrogant, reckless and irresponsible to the end, they will go down in history as the government that fiddled while the country burned. They partied and profited from the pandemic.
“They fought to advance their own interests while millions of people were pushed into a situation of greater insecurity.
“And they rewarded the people who helped crash the economy with seats in the House of Lords.”
He added: “Under my watch, the chaos and self-serving that became commonplace under the Conservatives will never happen again.
“I have already started making the difficult decisions necessary to clean up the mess and get us back on track. This won’t happen overnight.
“The long, hard, patient work of improving people’s lives is much harder than headline-grabbing gimmicks.
“That requires serious government – and that’s what you’ll always get from me.”
PM meets with mayors
Sir Keir used the article to list what his government did in the first week – saying it lifted the ban on land windmet with NHS bosses to work towards creating more appointments, restarted teacher recruitment programs, implemented “emergency measures” to fix the justice system It is dismantled the Rwanda scheme.
The Prime Minister also said that he met with the leaders of the United Kingdom’s nations, as well as metropolitan mayors from across England.

He reiterated his belief that “decisions are best made by people who are in the game, which is why I will take power away from Westminster and put it in the hands of local leaders.”
“We are enabling them to provide services to the local community in everything from transportation to housing.”
The government has already been criticized by a local MP for granting approval for solar farms in several parts of the country.

Sir Keir concludes: “I know you will not judge us by our words, but by what we do now that we are on the field. So let’s fight every day until you believe again.
“After 14 years of damage, the sunlight of hope is getting brighter. It’s not just football that’s coming home.”
