THE bodies of a woman and a man in their 80s were pulled from a river just a day apart, and police are now investigating their “unexplained” deaths.
Local residents raised concerns about a car that had been parked in the area for several days.
Officers were called to Chain Bridge in March, Cambridgeshire, at around 8.30am on Saturday.
A woman’s body was pulled from the river yesterday as authorities continued to search for the man.
Cambridgeshire Police have now confirmed that another body, believed to be the missing man in his 80s, was found this afternoon at 4.30pm.
Police investigating the report said they were concerned for the welfare of two people in their 80s.
The road between the A141, Hobb’s Lot Bridge and the Elm Road junction was closed for most of the day as police continued to search the river.
A Fenland Policing spokesperson said: “The body of a man has been located.
“We were called to Chain Bridge in March at around 8.35am yesterday with reports of concerns for the welfare of two people.
“Yesterday afternoon the body of an 80-year-old woman was recovered from the river.”
