A MODEL will stand trial after today denying throwing a McDonald’s milkshake at Nigel Farage.
Victoria Thomas-Bowen, 25, allegedly threw the banana drink at the Reform leader as he campaigned ahead of the general election.
The OnlyFans model appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, where she denied assault by beating.
Thomas-Bowen also pleaded not guilty to the charge of criminal damage.
She allegedly stained a spectator’s £30 jacket with the milkshake during the June 4 drama.
The model faces a maximum of six months in prison for the assault charge if convicted.
The court was told the so-called “milkshake” was a “protest” against Farage’s campaign.
But Thomas-Bowen’s lawyers indicated there was a “reasonable excuse” for the alleged crime.
Andrew Price said: “There is some difficulty in this case whether this constitutes violence or not.”
Thomas-Bowen was granted unconditional bail ahead of his trial scheduled for October 21.
It has not been confirmed whether Farage will be required to appear in the case.
Caroline Liggins, a partner at Hodge Jones & Allen who represents the model, said after the hearing: “My client strongly protests her innocence and looks forward to fighting these unfair accusations in court.”
Farage was in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, addressing supporters after announcing he would stand for election in the constituency.
As he left the Moon and Starfish pub, he was doused in thick yellow liquid.
He was seen with the banana milkshake smeared across his dark blue suit as he boarded his campaign bus.
The 60-year-old former UKIP leader later played down the incident by posing with his own X-shaped shake.
He joked: “My milkshake brings all the people to the rally.”
Farage later described the incident as “quite scary”, adding: “Nobody goes out and does old-fashioned street campaigning like I do, and that’s the risk that comes with it.”
It was the second time the I’m a Celeb star was targeted for a milkshake.
In 2019, the Brexiteer was covered in liquid from head to toe while in Newcastle in 2019.
Essex Police said: “A woman is due to appear in court following an incident in Clacton.
“The charges relate to an incident where a drink was thrown at a man in the area of Marine Parade East, Clacton, at around 2.10pm on Tuesday, June 4.”
