An 80-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an elderly woman he knew was found dead in south-west London.
Officers were called to Raeburn Avenue, Tolworth, in Kingston, at around 9.30am on Friday, where they found a woman in her 80s who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was arrested at the address on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, the Metropolitan Police said. Police officers remain at the scene.
The woman’s family members have been informed of her death and are being supported by specialized agents.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
