THIS is the shocking moment an apparently drunk pair caused mayhem on a Wizz Air flight after bringing their own drink on board.

James Burrows, from Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, captured the chaos on board his Wizz Air flight to Cyprus on June 27, 2024.

The woman, who was apparently drunk, began shouting and swearing at other passengers and staff.

A Wizz Air spokesperson said: “For safety reasons, passengers are prohibited from consuming alcoholic beverages not purchased on the aircraft.

“Unfortunately, two passengers on board the flight from London Gatwick to Larnaca on 27 June were seen drinking alcohol despite being reminded on several occasions that this was not permitted.

“The individuals initially resisted cooperating with staff doing their jobs to protect the health and safety of other passengers and crew, which is Wizz Air’s top priority.

“After further discussions, staff were able to calm the situation and relocate individuals to different seats to minimize disruption.

“We do not tolerate any aggressive behavior towards our crew or passengers and would like to apologize to passengers who suffered any distress as a result of the incident.”

The plane finally landed at Larnaca airport.

It comes after a Ryanair “flight from hell” had to be diverted just 36 minutes into its journey after a “mass fight” broke out between passengers mid-air earlier this month.

A passenger on board the overnight flight from Agadir to London Stansted said there was a fight between two families during boarding.

It all started when a man, thought to be in his early 20s, asked another passenger to move so he could sit with his wife and young children.

The woman, who was sitting with her own daughter, refused to move – which led the criminal to start threatening her.

The flight took off without any problems, but as soon as the seatbelt warnings were activated, the passenger’s husband, reportedly in his 30s, jumped to his wife’s defense.

Punches were reportedly thrown between the two men as Ryanair staff attempted to intervene.

Also earlier this month, a Ryanair flight to Tenerife was diverted due to a “conflicting” passenger.

The flight from Liverpool was forced to make an emergency landing after the crew called the police about a tourist.

Last month, 26 passengers were kicked off an easyJet flight after police were called to deal with “disruptive behaviour”.

It is understood the men boarded the plane before being expelled by police and were later denied boarding for a flight from Glasgow to Faro in Portugal.

In February this year, “out of control” passengers were removed from a Ryanair flight after they started fighting and “throwing bottles” at the plane.

The shocking incident left the children “terrified” and “in tears” while on board the plane traveling from Edinburgh for Tenerife.
