A woman in her 30s has died after being attacked by a pet dog in Coventry, West Midlands Police said.
Officers were called to a property in Wexford Road at around 12.15pm today following a report of a dog attack.
The force said the woman was treated at the scene by Western Centers Ambulance Service, “but despite their best efforts, she sadly died a short time later.”
“The woman’s family has been informed and our thoughts remain with them following today’s tragedy,” the force added.
The dog was seized and the death was reported to the coroner for further investigation.
Police said they do not believe it is a banned breed of dog.
