A 70-year-old woman has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after an eight-month-old baby died after being hit by a car outside a hospital.
Mabli Cariad Hall was in his stroller when a white BMW hit him outside Withybush Hospital, Pembrokeshire, Waleson June 21 last year.
The baby was flown to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for treatment and later transferred to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Bristol, but died four days later, on Sunday, June 25.
Bridget Carole Curtis, from Begelly, Pembrokeshire, has now been charged with causing Mabli’s death by dangerous driving.
She will appear at Llanelli Magistrates Court on August 22.
An investigation opened in July last year heard from the eight-month-old boy died of severe traumatic brain injuries.
Mabli’s family said they were still trying to come to terms with the loss in a statement released by Dyfed-Powys Police.
They said: “This last year has been the most horrible time of our lives.
“Our family life changed forever and to this day we are still trying to come to terms with what happened.
“Every day is a day of pain for us, even now, but as parents we still have to give the love and support our other children need as they are still trying to come to terms with the loss of their little sister.”

The family added that they are “grateful that we have reached this stage in the process” and called the indictment “the biggest step forward we have taken since June of last year.”

“We will never forget the love and support shown to us and the memory of our precious angel, Mabli Cariad.”
