We are already in August, the last month of meteorological summer, but will the weather match the end of the season?
Many hope it won’t be as bad as last year, which brought two named storms – Antonio It is Betty.
This week we see a moving westerly flow, with areas of low pressure bringing periods of rain.

Northern areas will be wetter, especially the Northwest, while the South will be drier.
A yellow warning for rain has been issued by the Met Office for the west of Scotland, lasting until 9pm on Monday. Around 20-40mm is expected, with up to 75mm possible.
It will also be very windy at times, especially in the west.
Temperatures will be around average during the day, a little higher in the South on Mondays and Thursdays, when it will also be hot at night.

The unstable westerly flow is expected to continue until mid-August, with a greater likelihood of drier and warmer conditions in the South.
