The Prime Minister promised to do “whatever it takes to bring these thugs to justice” as he addressed the nation amid riots on the streets of the UK.

“I guarantee you will regret taking part in this disturbance, whether directly or from those who provoke you online,” said Sir Keir Starmer.

Referring to a attack on a hotel in Rotherham currently ongoing, he said: “There is no justification for taking this action.

“People in this country have a right to be safe and yet we have seen Muslim communities targeted by attacks and attacks on mosques.”

The Interior Ministry announced on Sunday that mosques will receive greater protection with new emergency security.

It said mosques at risk of violent disorder could receive additional security personnel as part of a rapid security response to boost the work carried out by local police.

Scenes of violence erupted across the country following false reports that the crime suspect death of three girls in a knife attack in a Taylor Swift-themed dance class was an asylum seeker.

Sir Keir said he would not “avoid calling it what it is” and branded the violence “far-right unrest”.

“For those who feel attacked because of the color of their skin or their faith, I know how scary that must be,” he said.

“I want them to know that this violent mob does not represent this country and that we will bring them to justice.”
