Usha Vance, wife of Trump’s running mate, described her husband’s “serious” motivations for joining Trump’s presidential campaign, which she described as “valuable.”
“I know why he is doing this. I know who he cares about, the reasons he wants to improve people’s lives and I know his motivations are serious,” she said in an interview recorded on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.” “They’re not this kind of silly caricature that you see in him. And because of that, because I know that about him, I think it’s worth it.”
Asked why a Trump-Vance ticket is the best option for the country, she said her husband cares about people’s livelihoods and is not afraid to “shake things up.”
“This is a question that has many possible answers, right? There are a lot of really good things I think we can do now,” she said. “But I would point out again — I love my husband very much and I would point out what he really cares about, which is the people he grew up with.”
“There are many people who simply haven’t had the opportunity to wake up every day and know that their children will have a better life than they did,” she added. “And I just think JD is not afraid to push the boundaries and shake things up in a way that will allow more people to wake up and say that.”
