A large rig fire forced the closure of southbound Highway 215 in Devore on Wednesday, triggering a backup on Highway 15 through Hesperia, officials said.
The incident was first reported around 1:20 p.m. on the southbound highway at Devore Road, according to California Highway Patrol records. The trailer of a large rig was “completely engulfed” in flames.
All southbound lanes were closed and a Sig Alert was renewed at 3pm for at least another 90 minutes.
As a result, traffic was congested on Highway 15 southbound in Hesperia.
