Necessary get out of the city to relax? We have some suggestions about the destination.

In an article titled “The Best Small Towns in Ohio for Relaxing in 2024,” the website World Atlas offers eight options.

“These serene escapes offer a glimpse into Ohio’s rich history, unique culture and genuine hospitality,” according to WorldAtlas, that is invoiced as “one of the largest editorial resources on geography and other topics, including sociology, demography, the environment, economics, politics and travel.”

Here’s a look at some of them.

Yellow Springs is on the list of the best small towns in Ohio to relax

WorldAtlas Calls Yellow Fonts, which is east of Dayton, “a haven of creativity and natural beauty.” He cited the nearby Glen Helen Nature Preserve as a place to explore with hiking trails, waterfalls and limestone cliffs. He also mentions the Yellow Springs Street Fairshowcasing local artisans, artists and food.

Peninsula is a gem of a small Ohio town nestled within a national park

The Peninsula is a “nature lover’s paradise,” according to WorldAtlas. Surrounded by Dog-Friendly Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the village offers visitors “access to stunning scenery, walking trails and recreational activities including walking, cycling and bird watching”. It is also a stop at Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroadwhich runs through the Cuyahoga River valley between Akron and Cleveland.

Just make sure watch your speed when driving around the village.

Mount Vernon has ‘small-town charm and exciting attractions’

In central Ohio, along the Kokosing River, Mount Vernon “offers a mix of small-town charm and exciting attractions,” according to WorldAtlas. These include a Civil War monument downtown, the Kokosing Gap trail for hiking and biking, as well as the Schnormeier Gallery, which showcases local and regional art.
