LISTENERS to influencer Alix Earle’s newest podcast with her sister’s alleged boyfriend, DJ John Summit, have criticized the star for her bland questions and awkwardness.
Earle, 23, launched the Hot Mess podcast titled Summering with John Summit, 30, on Wednesday night.
Earle started the video discussing her summer travels and her boyfriend, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Braxton Berrios.
The video then transitions from her traditional filming location on a red couch in her Miami bedroom to a villa in Mykonos, Greece, where she is vacationing with friends, including Summit.
They started the chat by discussing how they met “in the back of a car” almost a year ago.
The conversation takes several turns as it discusses Summit’s musical career and personal life.
However, although the pair have been friendly for some time, their banter remains awkward and forced.
There was some awkward laughter, and as Summit talked about making music, Earle asked if it was similar to producing in Garage Band.
Listeners were hoping the DJ would spill some juicy details about his rumored relationship with Earle’s sister Ashtin, 21, but the gossip fell short.
Instead, Earle asked the musician if he knew what feminine products were, like a diva cup, a viral TikTok trend.
The pair also discussed a viral video ESPN posted the two on TikTok that went viral last August.
In the strange clip, the two stood side by side at an Inter-Miami game, not speaking and looking around.
Earle recalled the moment saying they “talked amongst themselves” as they stood up, not wanting to take any of the front row seats.
She said it “felt like I was ignoring you” to Summit, who said the influencer had the “biggest RBF ever” in the video.
‘DISAPPOINTED’
The embarrassing conversation did not go unnoticed by listeners who said they were “disappointed” with the episode.
“Alix seems kind of weird, which is weird because John is her close friend,” said one Reddit user he wrote.
They are probably not close friends as they talk a lot about deep things, they are party friends who have a bland relationship.

“I wanted some hot takes and good banter, but I didn’t get any of that. They were weird.”
Users in the comments couldn’t help but agree.
“It looked like Alix was blushing and trying really hard not to flirt,” one commenter noted.
“Poor Ashtin. Using her boyfriend as a podcast pawn [to gain] popularity among a different audience.
Another speculated: “They are probably not close friends as they talk a lot about deep things, they are party friends who have a bland relationship.”
A fourth said: “It was so boring.”
One commenter said they “barely made it past the 10-minute introductory story.”
“She asked such stupid questions… it was really annoying and awkward,” they wrote in part.
They also noted that there was “no tea of any kind” and it wasn’t worth watching if you wanted to know about his alleged relationship with Ashtin.
“It’s like she’s never interacted with a man before and it feels very high school…like ‘Teehee, let me ask this guy silly questions and laugh when he doesn’t know what it is’…soooo funny,” they shared.
“I stopped after that. Zero depth. Zero insight. Big mistake here, but not surprised.”
Old and cursed posts
In a recent TikTok videoOne creator flagged old racist social media posts that were uploaded to Reddit a year ago.
The posts were allegedly from his 10-year-old Ask.fm account, a question-and-answer social media platform.
In the posts, Earle appeared to say the n-word multiple times in response to questions.
The TikToker also noted that the star hasn’t had any scandals since her career took off in 2021, so the posts are “disappointing.”
