COPS is investigating its worst air disaster since 2007, after a plane crashed dramatically into a garden and killed 62 people.
A state official in Brazil confirmed they found the plane’s black box and police are investigating the cause of the deadly crash.

Shocking images showed the Voepass aircraft in an uncontrollable “death spiral” towards the ground in the state of São Paulo.
All passengers were presumed dead when the Voepass jet crashed into a gated community after exploding in a huge fireball.

No resident of the house in Vinhedo, São Paulo, was injured, but fifteen of the dead were doctors and two were trainee doctors.
Flight officials said the jet was carrying 57 passengers and four crew, but later confirmed an extra passenger, bringing the death toll to 62.
The gated community in Vinhedo was isolated while firefighters and military teams fought the fire and all the bodies were removed from the rubble.
Voepass has not yet suggested a cause, but flight tracker FlightRadar24 believes ice could be to blame.
They said there was an active warning for “severe icing” at an altitude between 12,000 feet and 21,000 feet.
It also revealed that the jet was flying at 17,000 feet just before it crashed.
Ice can freeze and build up on wings and propeller blades, impairing an aircraft’s performance by reducing thrust, decreasing lift, and increasing drag.
But Marcelo Moura, director of operations at Voepass, said ice forecasts were within acceptable levels for the aircraft to fly.
Lt. Col. Carlos Henrique Baldi, who was investigating, added that it was too early to determine whether the ice caused the collision.
He said: “The plane is certified in several countries to fly in severe icing conditions, including in countries other than our own where the impact of icing is more significant.”

FlightRadar24 said the jet was a 14-year-old ATR 72-500 turboprop, short-haul regional plane.
They also found that the last minute showed the plane’s transponder a vertical speed of between 8,000 and 24,000 feet per minute.
This roughly translates to a speed of 273 miles per hour, maximum.
