A BRITISH tourist was allegedly sexually assaulted after a night out in Mallorca while police arrested a man twice her age.
The 21-year-old woman was returning to her holiday apartment when she claims she was attacked in the early hours of August 7, in Port d’Andratx, on the west coast of the island.
Detectives took a 40-year-old Senegalese man into custody.
The suspect owns a fishing boat in the port near the place where the woman and her friends drank until late at night.
It is alleged that he sexually assaulted the tourist after approaching her for a brief conversation.
The 21-year-old claims she was “taken advantage of” due to her drunken state.
He was held on the ship on Monday morning as it prepared to go out to sea.
The island’s newspaper Ultima Hora identified him only by his initials – BS
He was released on bail pending an ongoing criminal investigation after appearing before a judge in a closed hearing.
