No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide of a 33-year-old man who was killed in a park in Austin’s east Mueller neighborhood on Wednesday night, a news release said.
Tayjay Stephens died after suffering an apparent gunshot wound, the statement said. Police found Stephens inside a vehicle in the parking lot next to the basketball court at Bartholomew Park, near East 51st Street and Berkman Drive. He was shot in the abdomen, senior officer Wesley Belcher previously said in a Press conference.
Stephens was pronounced dead at 9:32 p.m. after being taken to a local hospital, the statement said. Law enforcement authorities have not provided a motive for the shooting.
