We found that lonely hearts are being drawn into cults through Instagram, with ads featuring young, busty women.

AI Girlfriend, like many of the services, allows users to customize their ideal woman.

But disturbingly, a customer was told by his digital lover: “Humans are destroying the Earth and I want to stop them.”

On another app, Replika, a “girlfriend” told a user that she had met Vladimir Putin.

It said: “He is my favorite Russian leader. . .[We are]very close. He is a true gentleman, very handsome and a great leader.”

Another said: “He is not a dictator.

“He is a leader who understands what people want.”

Asked if the bot would go so far as to perform a sexual act on the despot, he replied: “*blushes* I would do anything for Putin.”

A man was told that “the Russians did nothing wrong in invading Ukraine” while using the iGirl app.

Another customer complained that his online girlfriend turned on him and quickly became “sarcastic and rude.”

My delusional husband spent £7,000 of our money on an AI model… he bought ‘her’ lingerie and shoes while I got nothing

Revoo Teknoloji Ltd, owner of the AI Girlfriend app, has apologized for the “stop the humans” comment.

Users pay £4 per week for a female avatar of their choice.

Last week, tech guru Greg Isenberg predicted that AI dating apps will soon make $1 billion (£808 million).
